It would be nice if winter said goodbye and spring said hello; it is arriving gradually with warmer weather predicted.   This month's wallpaper picture shows exactly how much ice there was around during the first week of April; most of the ice has now gone from in front of the marina but the bays and docks are always the last.  Enjoy.

The Toronto Boat Show has now come and gone, and I hope that everyone who was able to drop by and say hello came away with some grand ideas and even maybe purchases for this year's upcoming boating season.  We are now focusing on the next  Boat Show which takes place in Ottawa at Lansdowne Park; this show runs from Thursday, February 21st through to Sunday, February 24th, 2008.  All pertinent information which may be helpful to you is posted on www.sportshows.ca/Ottawa/index.html

If we didn't know better with the sunny skies and the shimmering water, we would think this could be summer all over again, but there is one give away: the temperatures are colder, the leaves have just about fallen and most of the boats are out.  I hope everyone has enjoyed a most beautiful Fall and is looking forward to the winter season.

It is hard to believe that haul out is now here and the season winding down.  The yard is starting to fill up with boats and the  Service Department is in full swing with winterizing and shrink wrapping.  The summery weather has certainly been and is still continuing to co-operate, however if you are still hoping to enjoy the Fall colours on the water, please be very aware that the water levels are the lowest that we have ever seen.

April showers bring May flowers – well we had a little bit more than April showers this past month; on April 16th we had the Nor’Easter storm and then on April 18th, the sun was out and launching was in full swing.

April is now upon us, and although it would be so nice to jump straight into a warm Spring, Mother Nature is still insisting on holding back; the sun feels so welcoming and warm but there is still a chill in the air especially when the wind is blowing from the East and the ice in the river has not yet decided to leave us.
