Happy New Year to you and may 2010 bring everything that you are hoping for, and more.   Adding a little warmth and colour to this month's scenic blog, come these incredible beautiful blue fish taken by Mike Ryan whilst diving in the Caymans; although not of the St. Lawrence, I hope everyone enjoys it.  Download Wallpaper   Our year started out with a tremendous "get together" at the top of the CN Tower in January; a very big "thank you" goes out to all of our wonderful customers who made this annual event a huge success.  If you would like to see the photographs which are now on our website, click here.  A quick video of the party was forwarded to Dave Amberley "Evergreen" who is stationed in Afghanistan; we missed you Dave, and we look forward to seeing you back here this year. BOAT SHOWS If you were unable to attend the Toronto Boat Show, don't worry, the Ottawa Boat Show is being held at Lansdowne Park, Ottawa, Ontario, from February 25th to February 28th.  Don and Scott will be happy to assist you in making just the right choice for your summer enjoyment on the water. SEA DOOS The 2010 Seadoos caused quite a stir at the Boat Show this year thanks to exciting new product and fantastic warranty.  This new Boat Show promotion means we can now offer a 5 year factory warranty on all new 2010 and non-current Seadoos.  We still have a few IS non-current machines available at great deals.  Join us at the Ottawa Sportsman's Show to take advantage of this very special offer! Think summer, think fun. SERVICE DEPARTMENT "Preventative Maintenance - Should We or Should We Not?" With our busy lifestyles between work and playtime, do we really want to take that chance on an unhappy outing?  Your boat is loaded with friends and family, and you leave the dock and break down.  Some breakdowns are unavoidable, but others are not. - Did you overheat because the impeller service was not done? - Did the engine start chugging and missing because you skipped a tune up? - Did the low gear oil alarm go off because a drive inspection was missed? - Do you now have a boat load of unhappy friends and family? - Would you prefer to repair breakdowns on our schedule or do preventative maintenance on yours? Help us, help you enjoy the best boating experience.  Call and book your appointment today. SALES DEPARTMENT Hunt Yachts The new Hunt 29 Coupe is absolutely gorgeous; if you haven't already had a chance to look at her beautiful curvaceous lines, stunning enclosed all weather hard top, and a powerful yet miserly fuel sipping 6 cylinder Volvo diesel, click on our website to whet your appetite. Cobalt Boats For all those of you who attended the Toronto Boat Show this year, you were lucky enough to have seen Cobalt's newest super secret A25 BEFORE anyone else in North America did.  This new model spent months on the drawing boards before they could figure out how to build the real thing.  All in a 25 ft. bowrider configuration.  Ask Scott or Don for more information on this VERY special 2010 model. Boston Whalers We have lots of Boston Whalers to show you, Montauks, Outrages, Super Sports to fit all and any occasion.  The best way to appreciate a Whaler is to run one.  So why not call to arrange for a Sea Trial when you are ready in the Spring so that you have the entire season to enjoy your new purchase.  Don and Scott can be reached on 613-659-3408 or visit our website. MAGAZINE INTEREST In last month's Boating Magazine was a good article regarding wood vs. fiberglass which may be of interest.  Click here for the article. IN-STOCK LIFE JACKETS We are offering deep discounts on all in-stock Seadoo life jackets - limited colour and sizing available.  Nylon Navigator life jackets are reduced to $29.99 and all Neoprene life jackets are at an incredible $69.99.  Call Sue on 613-659-3408 or e-mail (click) for more information. SPRING PROJECTS Last year you watched as we spent a considerable amount on tidying things up at Ed Huck Marine - new pavement in the yard, upgraded washrooms for our guests, new BBQs for the docks, additional covered "off-premises" winter storage plus a host of other ideas that came from your feedback. Well, this year we have assembled a few more items that will make the "To Be Done" file as well as some "Like To Doos!". - The old Scenic store has been converted into a work out area complete with top quality gym equipment. - There will be a new leisure activity area over the pool including a new gazebo structure. SUMMER STORAGE As you looking for summer storage for a trailer - boat, RV or high end vehicle that you do not want to leave in the sun?  Call Chris or Peter on 613-659-3408 to see what we can work out as we have lots of space in those empty storage buildings. ELECTRONIC GATE CODE The electronic gate code has now been changed; please call 613-659-3408 and ask for the new number. LAUNCH 2010 Though the River is frozen and we've got a blanket of snow on the ground, it is not too early to start thinking about launching your boat. You won't be the first request of the year (credit to the Nera family for being the keenest EHM boaters in 2010) but we will take your launch request check lists at anytime.  Click here for the list and fax it to 613-659-3413 or e-mail your requests to Chris and we'll get you first in line. GENERAL Once again the village of Rockport is holding their annual Winter Carnival; come down and join in the fun.  All activities and times can be found by clicking here. Ed Huck Marine will be closed on February 15th, 2010 as we shall be enjoying time with family - Ontario's "Family Day". Thank you to all who throughout the season donate books and/or videos for general use in the Laundromat.  As VHS has now become DVD, it would be very much appreciated if DVDs could be donated instead for everyone's enjoyment. All eyes will be on all Athletes during Vancouver's 2010 Olympics and Paralympics.  From all of us at Ed Huck Marine, we wish ALL of our North American athletes the very best and you can be absolutely sure that we shall be cheering you on.  Click here to see all results and live news. We would also like to send out a very special Good Luck to Haley Johnson, a friend of the marina's, who is participating in these Olympics.  Read all about Haley and her progress by clicking on the following links: - www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/vancouver/biathlon/2010-02-01-lake-placid-athletes_N.htm - biathlon.teamusa.org/ - www.haleykaralars.com - comeskiwithme.blogspot.com Keep warm and think Spring; it won't be long now.
