Events, events and more events.... enjoy summer to the fullest and join us for some good old fashioned fun.   A really big thank you goes out to Basecamp  who spent the weekend of August 1st/2nd coaching wakeboarding and putting on a great show with some amazing jumps –  everyone had an absolute blast.  Click here to see some great photographs.   Saturday, August 8th will be our Sea Doo Treasure Hunt come rain or shine – bring a friend or friends, come as a team or by yourself; solve the clues and have a day of wonderful fun on the water; $20 minimum per registrant and all proceeds will be donated to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.  All information on the Treasure Hunt can be found here.     Saturday, August 8th, in our Customer Service Area, Kyle Hodge will be holding his 3rd yearly Bake Sale with all proceeds being donated to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.  Don't miss out on some really yummy goodies and as well as helping an exceedingly worthwhile cause.   Saturday, August 15th, weather dependent, this year's fast and furious SEA DOO run will be up to Prescott for lunch and back.  Call me on 613-659-3408 if you are interested.   Sunday, August 16th – what could be nicer than a family event with Music, Art, Family & Food; drop down and enjoy our very own Rockport's Schoolhouse Jam at Rockport Community Centre.   Our Cobalt Customer Appreciation Day in July was another grand affair; a leisurely cruise followed by a tour of Boldt Castle ending up at Longue Vue Island courtesy of Al & Cliffa Wareing.  Our greatest thanks to Al & Cliffa for extending to us their very kind hospitality, to Paxson & Kelly St. Clair and family for taking time out of their busy schedule to join us, and to all our wonderful Cobalt customers for participating.   INSIDE WINTER STORAGE & PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE   We are very excited to be able to offer INDOOR WINTER STORAGE for 80 boats up to 36 feet.  Take advantage of the many benefits -  higher potential trade in values, less wear and tear on canvas, less clean up time in spring, and tons more!   Click here for ALL information.   Since your boat isn't shrinkwrapped, take the opportunity to get some service done; perhaps your canvas needs some work, your engine needs a tune up, or perhaps it's time for water pump impeller replacement.   Preventative maintenance means less downtime in season keeping you on the water and not in the service shop. Contact us on 613-659-3408 for more information.   BRP is now recommending all 2003-2007 4-tec Seadoos with 70 hours or more need their superchargers rebuilt with titanium washers.  All 2008-2009 (and newly rebuilt) superchargers need this service every 100 hours.  We are offering special winter pricing of $575 (regular $650); book this service now!  Call 613-659-3408 and speak to Sue or by e-mail.   WINTERIZATION FORMS   Unfortunately it's that time of year again and Fall looms just around the corner - you will shortly be receiving your winterization forms in the mail.   Once received, please submit them either by fax 613-659-3413 or in person as soon as possible to guarantee your storage space at Ed Huck Marine for winter 2009/2010.   SALES   Effective Aug 1st, all pre-owned Seadoos have been discounted by 10%. Why wait until next year when there's plenty of summer left.   All 2005 or newer machines carry EHM's 100% warranty on engine and jet pump and have been fully inspected by our service dept.   We also have great deals on remaining new GTX 155 HPs. Call Don or Scott today or click here to view our Specials page for close out pricing on non-currents and demos.   DISPOSAL OF MARINE FLARES   Anyone wishing to dispose of expired recreational marine flares can do so from August 1st to 8th, 2009 at any Ontario Provincial Police detachment.   The OPP will then turn the expired flares into Transport Canada's Office of Boating Safety for transport to a certified disposal site. Marine flares should not be disposed in regular landfills due to their dangerous material.  Visit www.opp.ca for a list of drop off points, and Transport Canada's boating safety website or a list of vessel safety equipment requirements including recreational flares.   PHOTOGRAPHS   Many of our customers have been on some really exciting and new adventures with their boats this summer; for those who have taken cameras it would be great if we could share some of your shots with everyone.  Please e-mail them to me at carol@marina.ca  It may inspire others to venture to some of these places next year.     GENERAL   Wendy's Mobile Market continues to do great business every Saturday morning from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.; a wonderful variety of locally grown produce is always available –  to avoid disappointment, don't be late arriving.   Happy boating; happy summer and see you next month.   Sincerely,     Carol     Download this month's picture taken during our Basecamp weekend for either a Standard or Wide Ratio Monitor; see below.
