CONGRATULATIONS AND GOODBYES
Many many congratulations from all of us at Ed Huck Marine go out to Claude & Tiffany Caron on the arrival of their baby daughter - a very warm welcome to the newest member of "D" dock.
Many many congratulations also go out to Neal Harvey and Maureen Richardson who became engaged one "sunny" summer's day on "C" dock, whilst spending time on their new boat.
All of us at Ed Huck Marine would like to wish a very safe trip to Dave Amberley, large covered slips, who will be departing for Afghanistan at the end of September for a tour of duty; we look forward to your safe return to the marina next year.
A very big thank you goes out to ALL of our sea-dooers who participated in our Sea Doo Treasure Hunt; it was a great day and congratulations to team Vachon who were the winners. All monies raised went to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.
Last but not least Kyle Hodge raised an amazing $1,500 also for the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation with his very own bake sale - well done Kyle.
WINTERIZATION AND MAINTENANCE TIME
Our winterization forms are slowly being faxed in; if you still have not had the time to advise us of when you might like to be hauled, please do so as soon as possible. All information ahead of time helps us enormously in being able to organize our technicians, our time and our yard.
Let us help you ensure your boat is in tip top shape for Spring 2010 - any work that you would like us to undertake on your boat this winter, just drop Chris a line or call 613-659-3408. If on the other hand you are not quite sure what maintenance is required, again we will be happy to recommend whatever is required.
For anything and everything to do with sea doos, give Sue either a call on 613-659-3408 or e-mail her; she will be more than happy to advise you of the upgrades that BRP are recommending as well as all of our other Winter Specials.
Our Inside Winter Storage is filling up fast but there is still room for a few more boats up to 36 ft.; this gives our technicians a wonderful opportunity to carry out any and all sorts of maintenance over the winter months. Interested? Call me on 613-659-3408 or e-mail me for more information.
PLEASURE CRAFT BOATING OPERATOR CARD - LAST CALL
September 15th, 2009 will soon be here as it is the deadline for everyone to have in their possession their Pleasure Craft Boating Operator Card. If you still need to take the test, please give me a call on 613-659-3408 and I will be happy to set up a time that is convenient for you to take it.
SALES - 2010 BOAT NEWS
Lots of changes are in store for 2010 Boats & Seadoos
Seadoo:
Scott recently attended the Seadoo's Dealer Meeting in Washington to preview the new 2010 models. With last year's big release of the new RXTis and GTX Ltd. these machines remain the same for 2010....right down to the colour. They did however take their new brake technology (IBR) and apply it to some of the smaller HP machines as well as a new Wake 215. So, if you're looking for the comfortable ride that comes with seadoo's incredible adjustable suspension system, your best bet is the 255 RXTis or GTX Ltd. Great deals are available on left over 2009's while they last or pre-order your 2010 now to avoid disappointment. To learn more visit www.seadoo.com
Cobalt 2010:
As with all stern drive boats built after January 1st, 2010, Cobalt will be building all their boats with catalytic convertors to meet stricter emission standards. Unfortunately this will add thousands to the price of all boats built after the New Year. That is why we have ordered extra Cobalts to be delivered before December 31st. A small deposit this Fall and you can order your 2010 Model with the options YOU want for spring. Throw us the keys to your trade and we will take care of the winterizing and storage costs. You can even apply for an insurance rebate until your new Cobalt goes in the water. Talk to Don or Scott on 613-659-3408 to learn more about a host of new options available on the 2010 Cobalts or visit their newly updated web site - www.cobaltboats.com
Boston Whaler 2010:
What makes these boats so popular? In a word versatility. Yes, of course you can fish with these boats, but most of our customers say the easy clean up (hose and go) as well as the piece of mind of unsinkability is why these boats become the primary island boat. The success of the new 130/150 SS was overwhelming this summer so we've ordered LOTS for next year so we don't run out. On the other end of the spectrum, check out Whaler's largest Outrage.....the new 370.
Yacht Club Demo Picture:
The Brockville Yacht Club sure made good use of a new 130 SS. They used the 130 as their chase boat when young sailors needed a little help. This 2009 130 is now back at Ed Huck Marine and offered at a discount for anyone looking to enjoy September on the water.
GENERAL
As we have started hauling and shrink wrapping boats for the winter, please bear with us as we move them around the yard; parking spot names have been removed so it is now on a first come first served basis.
We are always updating our data system, so if your address, telephone number, cell number and especially if your e-mail address have changed, do please drop me a note. This way you will always have the most up to date news on what is happening at the marina, no matter the time of year.
Enjoy the peace and serenity of the river, the quiet of the islands and the comforts of your boats this September.
Until the next time.
Carol
