Launch is in full swing and it is a pleasure to see everyone down at the marina once again for another great summer.  Once again this lovely springlike picture comes to us courtesy of Nancy McRae. Ongoing Upgrades To The Marina A new roof has been added onto our customer showers/washrooms and the interior is presently being upgraded.  Date of completion is expected to be early May.  In the interim, washrooms are available in the Customer Service area. Due to the upcoming fuel regulations, our fuel lines are being replaced, we therefore do not have any fuel at the present time.  This project is to be completed around the beginning of May. We are anticipating our new "work out" space to be ready in June - I shall keep you posted as to ongoing developments in our monthly blogs. Pump Outs We have been fortunate over the last 10 years to have kept our pump out rate level, but now unfortunately due to the continuous increase in our disposal costs, we are no longer able to offer free pump outs over a certain dollar amount to our external customers.  We shall however be tagging our in-house customers' boats to allow us to identify those that are entitled to free pump outs.  For your information, a pump out will now cost $40. New Boat Selection Ed Huck Marine is extremely excited in being able to introduce the following Boat Models to our Sales selection - the Bruce 22 and the Duffy Electric Boat.  To view our first stock Duffy click on this link, to go directly to the Duffy Electric Boats website click here and to view the Bruce 22 click here.   Brockville Tall Ships Landing Project Further to the presentation given by Simon Fuller, Mayor David Henderson and David Leverton at our annual Ed Huck Marine's Customer Appreciation Party in January 2009, this project is now going full steam ahead with new sales and government funding.  You may like to read more about this exciting project by clicking here. Travel To And From The United States By Land/Sea As of June 1st, 2009, all Canadian travelers entering the United States will be required to present either a passport or other approved secure document denoting citizenship and identity (NEXUS card).  This card can be applied on-line at www.cbp.gov  Cost is $50.00 and is valid for 5 years. An added benefit is to have access to dedicated commuter lanes on the northern border and expedited marine reporting; access to NEXUS kiosks also at designated Canadian airports. U.S. and Canadian children under the age of 16 will be able to present a birth certificate or other proof of citizenship. Farewells & Congratulations Ken & Marilyn have finally decided that this time, their retirement is for real.  They are leaving Ed Huck Marine at the end of April and taking up their new life in Saskatchewan where they will be closer to family, especially their grandchildren. Judy & Cam are also no longer returning but remaining in Collingwood where they will be pursuing other adventures. We shall miss them all but we do wish them happy, exciting and relaxing times. Many many congratulations go out to Scott MacCrimmon who last week was awarded the Yachtsman of the Year - Power Trophy award in Toronto and to Jerry Huck who was 2009's inductee into Canada's Hall of Fame in January.  Both awards are very well deserved and family tradition continues. Upcoming Events Mark your calendars - Saturday, June 6th for our start of the season "Wine & Cheese" party; Sunday, June 7th for our Ladies "Know Your Boat" morning; Saturday, July 18th for our Cobalt Day and Saturday, August 8th for our sea doo run.  Keep reading the blogs for all up to date information.
