NEW INFORMATION
The following information has been forwarded to me from our every sleuthing "Parts Guy" who is enjoying sunnier climes and thought this might be of interest.
"ICE - In Case of Emergency" - by Robert Rudd, Corporate Communications Bureau
Emergency personnel, on occasion, search for next-of-kin of a person unable to communicate by accessing that person's cellular phone. However, in a critical situation, with dozens of names and numbers listed, which entry is the most appropriate to dial? Now, with increasing frequency, a scroll through a directory listing comes to a halt as soon as a responder sees ICE (In Case of Emergency).
Police officers, paramedics, firefighters and hospital staff can conceivably establish quick contact with a family member or friend of an incapacitated person by locating ICE and pressing Talk or Send.
Cell phone users provincewide are being encouraged to program their phones with three separate entries - ICE 1, ICE 2 and ICE 3 - in the event their primary contact is not available. A contact person must be prepared to act on behalf of the person who is unable to answer questions. For example, the ICE contact may be expected to supply medical history or notify a trusted neighbour or an employer of the circumstances, should pressing matters have to be addressed.
Responders should be aware that a person who is not in possession of a cell phone may be carrying a wallet card with ICE numbers listed. OPP
GENERAL
Our new "workshop" is coming along very nicely; the floor has now been installed, the inner walls are up and at the moment final insulation is taking place. This is going to be a terrific work space once completed.
Ed Huck Marine's hours are now 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
I hope you are enjoying your winter holidays wherever you might be; spring will soon be here.
Sincerely,
Carol
