Ed Huck Marine is always pleased to help out where possible and this summer we were able to offer Brockville Yacht Club the use of a Boston Whaler for their Junior Sailors' program; click here to see a great photo and read the letter from Brockville Yacht Club below.

    Scott:

The Brockville Junior sailing programme of the Brockville Yacht Club provides youth from a 50 Mile radius the ONLY youth Sailing progamme of its kind.

There are 4,  2 week sessions taught by instructors  certified by the Canadian Sailing Association each Session has approx. 45 students ranging in age from 10 to 19 yrs of age. So for the past 25 summers about 190 children each year have learned how to sail, how to interact with others and to grow up with a lot of life lessons.

As we do all of our sailing instuction on the St. Lawrence River very close to the main international shipping channel, teaching children safety is a major concern. The whaler is used to pick kids out of the water on a regular basis when they fall out of there 420's and the instructors are able to guide the boat very easily between the 420's in the sailing fleet.

With the donation of the Whaler from Ed Huck Marine this year our instructors tell us they have never felt safer on the water even with a lake freighter bearing down on them in the distance. The boat is on the water with the children 6 hours a day 5 days a week.

The members of the Brockville Yacht Club sincerely appreciate the generosity of Ed Huck Marine in donating the use of this Whaler for the summer.
