End of Season - Update
I would like to take this opportunity to Thank everyone for their support this past Summer.
As discussed we had a big learning curve to get up and running at this new to us facility but you all made this a very pleasant experience for us.
Plans are already underway for next Season with some changes being made based your our feedback, which was really appreciated. Some items being discussed for next Season include: free pump-outs with a minimum fuel purchase, city parking tickets for untagged cars, later fuel dock hours in-season (fuel dock will run May long weekend until Labour Day with reduced services afterwards), larger dock cart
Renewal contracts will be sent out in November, all contracts will be done at last Summer's posted rate which is on the website www.tunnelbay.ca, these contracts need to be returned by December 16th with a 15% deposit to hold your slip for next Summer.
All Marina services will be turned off as of today and all boats should be out of their slips for the Season.
Thanks again,
Peter Johnston

Dear Tunnel Bay Moorings Boater,
I would like to introduce Ed Huck Marine as the new facility management company for Tunnel Bay Moorings (formerly know as Tunnel Bay Marina).
Ed Huck Marine is a 4th generation full-service Marina located in Rockport, Ontario. Founded in 1889, the Marina has a great reputation as a quality service & sales provider, offering the finest products in the industry. Ed Huck Marine currently represents Cobalt Boats, Boston Whaler, Hunt Yachts, Starcraft Pontoon Boats, and Sea Doo PWC. The Marina is a 12 month operation employing Factory certified Technicians for MerCruiser, Mercury Outboard, Volvo Sterndrives, Sea Doo PWC, and Raytheon Electronics.
This letter is being forwarded to you, courtesy of Tunnel Bay Marina. Although the Marina is very early into the transition phase I am reasonably confident that rates and slips should remain the same for the coming season.
In order that no-one is missed during the transfer, you are requested to contact us by December 31, 2010 to ensure that you are part of the new database. We are unfortunately not able to contact individual boaters directly. Slips will be re-rented after December 31st if we have not been contacted.
Check out www.tunnelbay.ca for more information as it becomes available.
I look forward to having the opportunity of speaking with you over the next few weeks as we transition from the former management company. Please contact me to discuss mooring arrangements for the coming season.
Sincerely,
Peter Johnston

May 2 - Update
Just a quick update, we are now managing the dockage facilities atTunnel Bay Moorings as of May 1. Shorepower and Water are back on now. The Washrooms and Showers will be ready for the weekend of May 14th, as well the Gas Dock and pumpout will be ready for the May long weekend.
As we transition to full time Summer Operations, we can still be contacted at 613-659-3408 or feel free to email me peter@marina.ca
For customers arriving this week, there was some dock damage from the storm last Thursday and the Tall Ships crew are working on repairs. If your dock does not appear to be ready, you may use another slip and let me know so we can shuffle boats once repairs are completed.
There are still slips available for boats 30' and under, please contact me for details.
Thanks
Peter Johnston
May 14 - Update
Forgetting about today, it has been a great couple of weeks for starting the Boating Season.
I have really enjoyed being able to meet some of our new boaters in Brockville and am beginning to become familiar with the Tunnel Bay facilities.
We are still working on a power solution for slips 2 to 30 as the dock wiring was condemned and needs to be completely replaced. In the meantime, if I have not contacted you about an alternate slip with power please email me.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our Harbour Master, Katie Gaskin. Katie has been busy this past week cleaning and prepping the facilities and trying to walk the docks.
Katie will be on-site during our regular business hours of 9 to 6 beginning Tuesday May 18th. She can also be reached at 613-498-4567 or Katie@tunnelbay.ca.
Thanks again for your support, Peter
May 28 - Update
Hi, I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the long weekend and the great weather it brought.
I just wanted to let you know that I am onsite Tuesday to Saturday 9 to 6, Lynn is in Sunday & Monday 9 to 6. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
We have placed garbage cans at the end of the two gated docks, these are to be used for small bags only. All big garbage bags should be taken directly to the dumpster behind the office please. Also if you could please make a point of breaking down any boxes and taking them directly to the dumpster.
A washroom and shower request, if you could please turn off the lights and fans when leaving.
Due to limited staffing this Summer we will not have any towing service available, I have talked to Gilbert Marine and they do have towing available during certain hours. Their contact number is 613-342-3462.
Please ensure that any contractors you request to work on your boat, contact our office with proof of insurance. This is for your safety.
As of Monday, May 30th we will have the ability to take VISA and debit cards for payment as well as cash.
Thanks for all your support this Spring,
Katie

June 10 - Update
Hi Everyone!
I hope everyone is getting settled in for the summer, just a few updates. I know parking has been a concern for everyone and I have done some research on it and found the following. The City lots (including the small one by the docks) are not checked after 5:00pm on week days or on the weekends, so they are available for parking during those times. Also, if you are a visitor to Brockville or are having visitors come down to your boat, they can visit the Tourism Office at 10 Market Street to receive a free parking pass for any of the city lots (I have a map in the office of all the lots).
If anyone is in need of trailer parking, there are three designated trailer parking areas, they are 1. beside hardy park 2. behind the home street parking lot 3. beside the henry street boat ramp. All parking lots require a parking pass which can be purchased at the home and henry street lots. (The free parking passes do not include trailer parking).
We are starting to get request for transient dockage especially over Riverfest and Poker Run weekends, so if you could let us know of any times you will be away from the dock it would be greatly appreciated.
Please follow us at www.tunnelbay.ca for the latest information.
Please let me know of any other concerns you may have.
Thanks.
Katie

June 25 - Update
Just a couple of update items, both fun things.
The Coast Guard will be on the docks at Tunnel Bay Moorings on Friday, July 1st at 12:00 to provide pleasure craft courtesy checks. These inspections are free of charge and will be completely voluntary. The inspections provided by the Coast Guard will ensure your boat is equipped with all safety items required by the office of boating safety and then provide you with a sticker to place on your boat with the year the inspection was completed. The Coast Guard will also be offering safe boating guides to anyone who would like one.
On July 9th, Ed Huck Marine will be hosting an Afternoon Cruise through the 1000 Islands, starting at 2:00pm in Rockport this is a great opportunity to take your boat on a follow the leader trip through some of the area channels.
The Cruise is being followed with a BBQ, drinks & music, wine tours at Eagle Point Winery. If you would like complimentary dockage in Rockport for Saturday night please let me know. If you prefer to stay in Brockville and just join us for the BBQ, a shuttle bus is being organized.
Evites have been emailed, please RSVP by July 1st.
If you have any questions let me know. Hope to see everyone on the long weekend!
Thanks,
Katie

July 14 - Update
Hi Everyone,
Peter and I really wanted to thank our boating friends that took the time to join us last weekend in Rockport for the Eagle Point Winery BBQ, it was great to see you there.
There have been a few issues brought to our attention that I would like to address.
Two garbage cans were put on the docks at the beginning of the season as a courtesy and they seem to have created a issue. We are going to start an everyday garbage pick up at 9:00am and 4:00pm to try and resolve the garbage piling up, and be able to keep this service available. However, I would like to ask that boxes be brought to the dumpster as they take up a large part of the bags and create overflow. As well, I will be getting some recycle bins and locating them behind the dumpster for your convenience.
I would also like to restate that the parking policy is a first come first serve, and it is one parking space per boat. This is especially important during peak periods (weekends and special events). It is not fair to your boating neighbours if some people take two parking spaces and others get none. There has also been a complaint about people taking up two spots, as spots are not marked I just ask that everyone do the best they can to avoid leaving large spaces in between cars.
Thanks you for your cooperation
Katie

August 18 - Update
Hi Everyone
I just wanted to give everyone a quick update about next year. No major changes to the current docking situation will be happening for next Summer. We are staying in close communication with the development corporation and we will relay any new information as we get it.
At this point we expect the contracts for next Summer will be going out in November with the first payment due in the middle of December. Rates for existing docks will be similar for next year (all contracts will be done at the posted rate on the website). I want to make sure everyone knows that you will not have to purchase a dock on top of the seasonal rates, this is an option only for purchasers of a Tall Ships Condo units.
As we approach the end of our first Season running Tunnel Bay Moorings, Peter and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their feedback and support. Your feedback goes a long way to determining how we run the Marina and it really is appreciated.
Ed Huck Marine's lease for this Season expires on November 1st so all services will be done for the Season at this point. In the meantime the Gasdock will remain open 7 days/week after Labour Day until the end of September and Weekends after that with slightly reduced hours.
Peter also asked that I mention, this Saturday is the annual Sea Doo Fundraiser at Ed Huck Marine. Please click here for more information.
If you have any further questions feel free to email me, call me at 613-498-4567 or come see me at the gas dock.
Thanks
Katie
September 17 - Update
