Meet Our Team
– Administration –
What a full circle I have come! My parents kept their boat here at the marina when I was young and then as an adult I get to come back and work here. Employed for 6 years in the accounting department, this is the best staff and customers I have ever had the privilege to work with. Although most only know our names up on the second floor, we are always busy making sure all areas of the marina are running smoothly.
Business and boating are two of my greatest passions. Currently the President of R.E. Hein Construction, and founder and President of VCL Construction and Ontario Rental and Supply, I developed a love of boating early in life. Starting in my teens, I took to sailing and scuba diving as a way to fuel my need to be near and in the water. This early start led me to take every opportunity I could to spend time in and on the water. Since my early adult years I have owned various types of boats and have been a long-time client at Huck’s. My love of boating and business made the opportunity to be part of the Ed Huck ownership and management team an exciting, natural and easy decision.
My interest and enjoyment in boating started at an early age on the Trent River and continues today at Ed Huck Marine in the 1000 Islands. I have been a customer of Huck’s since 2001, and together with my wife, Holiday, son, Lincoln and daughter, London, enjoy spending time throughout the summer at Scenic Dock, Grenadier or the Navy Islands. Over the years, I have owned many boats starting with a Searay 268 in 1998, a Regal 4260, a Meridian 441, 541 and a Boston Whaler Dauntless 270.
While studying Engineering at Waterloo, I founded Ottawa based Sciemetric Instruments, and currently serve as President. Sciemetric develops data acquisition systems and data management software used to optimize manufacturing lines and has become a global supplier to many Fortune 500 companies including Ford, Cummins, Deere, Jaguar Land Rover, and Caterpillar, with offices in Canada, USA, UK, India and China.
I am really excited to be part of the Huck Marine Crew and work with Scott and Mark on the ownership team focusing on the modernization and development of the marina.
Since moving to the Kingston area in 1982 I quickly became passionate about boating and the St. Lawrence River especially Rockport as I found it to be the most majestic part of the River. I have worked around the world but always stayed close to the water as I find myself always drawn to it.
With over 20 years in the accounting field as a Controller and CFO, I have always enjoyed working with the staff, management and owners to achieve the corporate strategies of the corporation. I believe the vision and strategy of Ed Huck Marine will guarantee it as the premier spot on the River for decades to come and look forward to being part of the future here at the waterside in Rockport.

Getting to work in the sun and by the river is a great way to spend my summers. This will be my fifth season working at Ed Huck Marine; and I look forward to hearing how the boaters are going to spend their time on the water.

Working outside and on the River as well as meeting customers at the Gas Dock are just some of the benefits of being a Fuel Dock Attendant. This is my third summer and I am happy to be back at Ed Huck Marine.

Fuel Dock Attendant
This is my first summer working at Ed Huck Marine. I really enjoy working outside by the water and meeting lots of new people. I didn’t grow up having a boat but I love helping our customers enjoy their time on the River.
– Parts & Service –
I am so lucky to have grown up boating in the 1000 Islands!
Jody and I are equally happy that our kids have now had the same opportunity and share our love of the River.
I started on the gas dock in 1981 and have never worked anywhere else, it has been a pleasure looking after some of the greatest boaters in the world.
In the fall of 2007 I started at Ed Huck Marine in the yard as seasonal part time employment and to complement my work for Canada Post as a letter carrier. From the very start of my time here at Huck’s, there has been a great working chemistry with my employers Peter and Scott as well as my fellow colleagues. So when I was offered the opportunity at full time employment managing the Parts Department, It just felt right. I cut my ties with Canada Post and have never looked back. There is something to be said about the joy of coming to work each day where our customers are number one, the beautiful Thousand Islands is our playground and every one comes with a smile.
I joined the Crew almost 9 years ago after I retired from being a part-owner of C &R Marine Transportation, and a marina. Delivering new boats and maintaining the yard allows me to contribute to the customer experience of boaters at our marina.
I enjoy boating on the River and throughout the 1000 Islands and keep my boat at Ed Huck Marine.
Delivery, Yard & Wakesurf Instructor
As a member of the Crew, I deliver the “Beyond Boating” experience to the Marina’s boaters. I enjoy engaging with clients to provide updates about new services and products within the Sales fleet, as well as the Water Toy Store. I collaborate with the Service and Sales Teams to lead the Water Toy Store’s “Wake Surf Demo Days” in July, 2017. In addition, I assist the Customer Service department with boat and watercraft water deliveries and pickups as well as cleanings to ensure boater satisfaction.
As the great-grandson of Ed Huck, I represent the 5th generation of family to proudly work at the marina. Growing up I enjoyed spending time at my grandparent’s cottage on Grenadier Island, and I have great memories of boating in grandpa’s Wahoo. I still enjoy boating and being on the water and consider it a privilege to help others discover and enjoy the same.
As Facility Manager I continue to improve all of the facilities at the marina to meet the needs of our boating customers. Throughout the week and especially on the weekends, I talk directly with customers to listen to their concerns and feedback. In 2011, I started at the gas dock and have worked in various roles in the marina before taking on this position in 2016.
This is my second year in Customer Service at Ed Huck Marine and helping to take care of your boating needs. With 18 years of experience in customer service, I will do all that I can to help you get out on the River, enjoy all that the 1000 Islands have to offer, and make new memories.
I have lived on the River all my life and wouldn’t trade this slice of heaven for anything.
Sea Doo Specialist
20 years at EHML
A graduate of the Marine Technology Recreation Program at Georgian College in 1998, I have always loved boating and can’t imagine not being able to live, work & play on the water. Our products, staff & customers are the best and it’s truly an honour to come to work each day!
With perhaps the most beautiful and enjoyable fresh water boating in the world, but with a rather limited prime boating season, it’s vital that we strive to maximize our customers potential for being able to enjoy our local waterways on their boats.
I began my career in the marine business in 1994 here on the gas dock & after several years away, returned to EHM in September, 2013.
As part of the Customer Service Team, I help keep the yard organized and clean and assist with the movement of boats. Providing exceptional service is the goal at Ed Huck Marine and I am committed to contributing to meeting the needs of our boating customers. I enjoy the working environment and especially appreciate working outside and on the St. Lawrence River.
Becoming Service Manager at Ed Huck Marine is a bit like ‘coming home’ for me. I started as a Dock Staff in 1988 and worked three summers at the marina. If Morris hadn’t thrown the latest copy of a marine industry magazine on the counter one day as he went for lunch, my career path might have been different! I saw an ad for Georgian College’s Marine Technology program, so after completing my degree at Western University, I went on to Georgian and started my career with BRP in Valcourt QC and then Mercury Marine.
When it was time to start a family, I got off the road and was Service Manager and General Manager at several marine dealerships in the area. As an owner of a 4th generation cottage west of Brockville on the St. Lawrence, I’ve always been a River Rat. Being in the boating industry has been a passion for 30 years and I am thrilled to be a part of the growing Service Team at Ed Huck Marine.
– Sales Specialists –
Boating and lake life has been part of my life from an early age. Spending summers at my family cottage on Big Rideau Lake with family and friends has always created great memories that I know will last a lifetime. For over a decade, I have enjoyed helping others achieve the same lifestyle and spend time with their friends and family to create memories out on the water.
I am happy to be part of the Ed Huck Marine Sales Team and I am very excited for the next chapter here on the St. Lawrence River.
Finance & Sales Associate
Originally from Sault Ste. Marie where he was raised boating on Lake Superior and the St. Mary’s Seaway, Dave relocated to Eastern Ontario in 1987. For the next 27 years in Ottawa, Dave became a specialist in finance and warranty services for automotive, RV and the powersports industry. Through the years, Dave developed long-term relationships with most of the major Canadian banks and accessed a variety of financial programs to offer options to clients to finance new purchases.
Dave joins Ed Huck Marine to offer alternative purchase solutions with you and demonstrate how affordable the boating lifestyle is for you and your family. In addition, Dave will present extended warranty solutions to protect your investment.
As an avid boater, fisherman and diver it made sense that I chose to pursue a career in the boat business. With 15 years experience in the industry, and 12 years at Ed Huck Marine, I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else besides the Thousand Islands. It is an honour and pleasure to work with our friendly customers and all of my dedicated and experienced fellow coworkers.
After many years of Sales and Financing in both the automotive and marine industry, I am happy to be part of the Sales Team at Ed Huck Marine.
What I enjoy most about working in Sales is in some small way being responsible for the wonderful memories that customers and families are able to create while on the water.
Visitors say it best when they ask. “ You get to Live here ?”… Creating a life beside the River is the best anyone could ask for. I get to work with a talented group of professionals and for a diverse group of individuals who continually reward us with their business, confidence and referrals year after year. I’ve been calling the boat business my profession since the age of 13 starting on Gordon Marine’s gas dock in 1977… and haven’t looked back since.
– Technicians & Specialists –
Roger E Godin
Prior to joining the EHML Team in 2011, I was a certified College Instructor at Algonquin College, delivering both Automotive and Truck and Coach programs, in which I hold Red Seal Certification in both.
As a member of the EHML service team, we strive to maintain the level of service our clientele expect and deserve to ensure a great boating experience, and I am proud to be a part of this exceptional team!
I have been in the marine industry for 9 years, the last 5 with Ed Huck Marine. With an avid interest in anything mechanical, I started watching and working alongside my father who restored cars as a sideline. Once I realized the joy of boating, I attended Georgian College’s Marine Technician course, and began working in the field of my new passion.
SeaDoo Service Technician
Growing up boating off Kingston and the 1000 Islands with family and then working in my family’s marine business has allowed me to share our customers’ passion for boating. I even got to live aboard a boat in Collins Bay in the 70’s. These days I get to spend time on the water fishing with my boys.
Now beginning my 42nd season (22 years as EHM Sea Doo Tech) in the marine industry I am constantly amazed at the cutting edge technologies used in Sea Doo and the marina that make work so interesting.
Growing up at the cottage made it easy to fall into the position, always driving and playing with boats. Now with 21 years of service, 6 years at EHML, I’m still enjoying it. Working at Hucks makes it easy to enjoy; very friendly, relaxed customers and good co-workers are what make it great.
Sea-Doo Service Technician
My job here at Ed Huck’s is always an adventure, even in the winter when ice fishing keeps me smiling. I have been working here since 2006, picking up a career along the way. I am a fully licensed Marine Technician and a Sea-Doo Master Certified Technician. Having the opportunity to live in the Thousand Islands region has given me access to all the boating and fishing that I love!
For the past 15 years, I have enjoyed working at the marina and being part of the Crew. I started as a Sea-Doo Technician and my role has grown into electronics and plumbing. I enjoy the friendly customers, and of course the great views of the St. Lawrence River that are part of our working environment. It is a great place to work and a fun work environment. I continue to work on my Volvo Tech Training and plan to become a Certified Volvo Technician.
Boat Detailing Specialist
After several years in the marine industry I settled into a position with the Ed Huck crew. Nine years later I continue to enjoy all the perks this wonderful business and industry has to offer. The river is beautiful, calming and fun and while many aspire to encounter the views and experiences first hand, I am lucky enough to do so daily. Working here is fast paced, challenging and rewarding all at the same time. Seeing/hearing that our customers have given positive feedback about their experience with us is the most rewarding part of my job!
I joined the Crew in March of 2017 to be the face behind the Marina’s social media platforms, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. My goal is to provide each of you access to Product & Service Updates, Marina News & Events, and a channel to share stories and photos of life on the River and in the 1000 Islands. Be sure to stay connected with us, and I hope to see you online!
